Variable Supports

Variable-load spring hangers are devices that are used to support the weight of pipes which, due to thermal variations and other causes, move vertically in the support points. The Ca.S.T.Im 2000 variable-load hanger essentially consist of a helical spring: the load is applied to a moulded piston which the compresses the spring. The entire support is enclosed in a cylindrical casing which is made using two sheet metal tiles which are welded together to two annular plates, which have also been moulded. This casing has two slits running lengthwise which helps when inspecting the spring's coils. Finished supports are obtained from these base products by inserting the tensioners and welding on the attachment plates that can be  used for whatever type of work needed to be carried out. In order to protect the surfaces of the casing and various attachments, as well as the spring, we schedule 3 painting cycles for this type of construction. If being used in specific or more particular environmental conditions, it may be necessary request a different type of construction where the upper plate of the casing is bolted instead of being welded. For this type of construction, the springs are coated with thermoplastic materials and the casing is immersed in zinc so it becomes galvinised.
