Roll Supports
Roll supports are devices used to support the weight of pipes that, due to thermal variations or other causes, exhibit horizontal displacements at the support points, the predominant component of which is axial. Roller supports are also excellent at counteracting horizontal forces due to wind and thermal variations whenever necessary. The patented Ca.S.T.Im. 2000 roller supports are designed and constructed to ensure absolute operational safety; the various component parts of the supports are made of quality materials suitable for easy welding and, in operation, are subjected to low levels of stress. All welding is performed in inert gas with automatic equipment on dedicated positioners to ensure consistent operating parameters and quality. The bushings and thrust washers used to construct the roller supports are self-lubricating, PTFE-based (polytetrafluoroethylene) on a metal support. The patented Ca.S.T.Im. 2000 roller supports have the following distinctive features:
they do not require lubrication of any kind;
they maintain the values of the friction coefficients practically unchanged over time;
maintain their characteristics unchanged when operating temperatures vary in the range: – 30 250°C;
