Shock absorbers, also known as snubbers, are devices consisting of a mechanical component, complete with a spring, combined with a hydraulic component, to protect the circuits and systems to which they are attached from sudden impacts. These devices are used in systems subject to water hammer, to prevent seismic risks due to earthquakes or other system situations where sudden movements may occur that require stopping and/or dampening.
