Constant supports
Constant-load spring hangers are devices used to support the weight of pipes which, due to thermal variations and other causes, move vertically in support points. The Ca.S.T.Im. 2000 constant-load hangers are essentially made up of a helical spring, an angle lever connected to the spring by means of an articulated tie rod and a frame. The kinematic mechanism is made in such a way that, by rotating the lever around the main pin, the C load which opposes the spring action will maintain a constant value, given by:
C =k*(R*h*b)/c
in which:
C = load on the pipeline
k = constant
R = spring stiffness
h = defined geometric value
b = variable geometric value
