SUPPORTS AND ANCILLARY
The support plays a very important role in the construction of a plant, as it is the component that allows the pipes, whatever they might be, to move freely following to phenomena of thermal expansions, vibrations or settling of the pipes themselves.
Based on loading and moving data given by the customer, we are able to provide the proper sizing of the support and, besides the construction, we can follow the installation and start up of the plant.
We can also provide, separately, the service "help on the plant", by which we submit a report to the Customer about the operating supports status.
Together with the dimensioning of the support we can also supply parts of "steel structures" and the "pipes" themselves.

Variable Spring Hangers
Variable spring hangers are devices which bear the weight of pipes which, because of thermal variations or other causes undergo vertical displacements at their points of support. Ca.S.T.Im.'s spring hangers are essentially formed by a coil spring on which acts a piston to which is applied the load that compresses the spring. The unit is contained in a cylindrical housing formed in turn by two sheet-metal shells, welding connected to two ring-like end printed plates.
The housing thus has two longitudinal slots which allow inspection of all the coils of the spring.
When, however, for uses in special atmospheric conditions, a different form of construction could be requested in which the upper plate of the housing is connected by bolts, instead of by welding.
For this type the springs are coated with thermoplastic materials and the housing is protected with a hot dip galvanizing process.
For use in very corrosive atmospheres, and in addition, or alternatively, at high temperature, the wholly welded type is supplied, made to order in stainless steel and with the spring also in stainless steel.

Constant Spring Hangers
Constant spring hangers are devices which bear the weight of pipes which, because of thermal variations or other causes undergo vertical displacements at their points of support. Ca.S.T.Im. 2000's constant spring hangers are essentially formed by a coil spring, by an arm, connected to the spring by an articulated tie-rod and by a frame.
The kinematic motion is made so that for a certain rotation of the arm around the main pivot, the load C which opposes the spring's action maintains the constant value, given by:

C =k*(R*h*b)/c

in which:
C = load on pipes
k = constant value
R = spring rate
h = defined geometrical value
b = variable geometrical value
c = support travel

The calibration and regulation of the load of Ca.S.T.Im.2000 constant spring hangers occurs by changing the length b of the arm in which the spring's action is exerted.

Here below you can find the most common types of devices we manufacture; on customer's demand we develop ad-hoc solutions.
